Toyota HiAce H300 SLWB Van Flooring Installation

Sydney Van Lining recently completed a flooring-only installation for a Toyota HiAce H300 SLWB with dual sliding doors. The customer wanted a durable and easy-to-maintain cargo floor while keeping the van’s existing wall panels unchanged.

The completed installation gives the cargo area a clean, professional working surface and provides additional protection for a commercial vehicle that may be exposed to frequent loading, unloading and everyday use.

Practical Floor Protection for the HiAce SLWB-Laminated birch Ply flooring

The Toyota HiAce H300 SLWB is designed for operators who require substantial cargo capacity. Toyota Australia lists the SLWB van with up to 9.3 cubic metres of cargo space, making it a practical option for couriers, tradespeople, mobile service businesses, equipment transport and commercial fleets.

With a cargo area of this size, the original metal floor can be exposed to scratches, dents and general wear caused by tools, boxes, machinery and other transported goods. A properly fitted plywood floor creates a stronger working base while helping preserve the condition of the vehicle underneath.

For this project, we installed a precision-cut floor manufactured from 12.5MM WBP Grade Laminated Birch Plywood. Birch plywood provides a strong and stable base, while its WBP construction offers increased resistance to moisture and the demanding conditions commonly experienced inside commercial vans.

The upper surface is finished with a black HPL laminate featuring a honeycomb pattern. This creates a hard-wearing, slip-resistant surface that is easier to clean than an exposed metal cargo floor. The underside is also laminated to provide additional protection to the plywood.

The patterned finish improves grip underfoot, but it is not a replacement for proper cargo restraint. The original factory tie-down points remain accessible, allowing the customer to continue securing tools, equipment and transported goods safely.

Precision Fit Around the HiAce Cargo Area

A professional van floor should follow the shape of the vehicle rather than simply covering the centre of the load space. The flooring in this HiAce was cut to fit closely around both wheel arches, the side-door entrances and the contours of the cargo area.

Aluminium joining strips connect the separate flooring sections, creating a stable and continuous surface across the long cargo space. The joining system also produces a neat transition between panels while helping protect the plywood edges in frequently used areas.

As shown in the completed installation, the flooring sits cleanly around the factory wheel arches and retains access to the existing anchor points. This detailed fit helps maximise usable floor space while giving the interior a more organised and professional appearance.

Not every commercial van requires a complete floor, wall and ceiling lining package. For this project, the customer selected flooring only and retained the existing interior wall panels.
